2/20/2007. Hey, today the news post is a quick FYI moment. Yesterday, the Greg Mayo and The Groove email newsletter went out to everyone on our list. However, some of you may have not revieved it in your inbox. Many AOL and AIM email addresses had the message sent to their spam folders instead. It may have also happened to gmail users as well. To be sure this doesn't happen again, go into your spam folder and mark 'this is not spam' for the email - 'noreply@gregmayo.net'. What also may help is lowering your spam blocker. Thanks all! See you soon.
2/10/2007. Hey everybody, whats going on? I'll tell you whats going on; Recording sessions! Thats right, we have been in and out of the studio between shows working on the new album. As a matter of fact, we just recorded some final vocals, which means you may see mixes up on our MySpace page soon enough. We also have a few shows coming up these next couple weeks. We'll be in Boston MA, Stroudsburg PA, and of course New York NY. Come on out to hear some of these new tunes first hand. Happy early Valentines Day! "Don't forget your booties, cause it's cold out there today. It's cold out there every day. What is this, Miami Beach?"
1/2/2007. Happy New Year!!!! For those of you who care, it is the Year of The Pig. Although the band has taken a short hiatus from playing gigs, we have been hard at work in the studio completing tracks for what will become our debut full length album. More news and rough mixes of some of the songs to come shortly. Make sure you come out to the Bitter End on January 27 if you're able. We'll be debuting some of these new tunes. Thats all for now, hope all is well! "It's not in my nature to be mysterious, but I can't talk about it and I can't talk about why."
10/1/2006. Wow... I apologize; I've really dropped the ball here on these news posts. For those of you who have not been getting the newsletters, heres what's been going on. (extended play) is now on iTunes (and has been for a couple of months...). We've been to Burlington VT, Stroudsburg PA, and finally Boston, MA, and I've been to Europe. But the greatest news of all is that tomorrow night, we have our first offical recording session for our next/first full length album (dum da da daaaam!), as yet untitled. No release date as of yet, we're simply going to take our time and do it right, so we can do it baby, do it tonight(sorry, got carried away there). Anyway, we got a few shows coming up in the next couple months, check out the tour page, or or myspace page for all the details. Also, keep checking the Myspace page for rough mixes from the new album. Thanks! See you soon. "I'm on 1st and 1st. How can the same street intersect with itself?.. I must be at the nexus of the universe!"
6/10/2006. Hey everyone, we were hoping that the next time we posted here would be the day (extended play) was available on iTunes. That, I am sorry to announce is not a reality... yet. In the meantime, you can get your own copy at any of our shows, or on CdBaby.com. We have a number of shows coming up in New England and New York where you can expect to hear a number of new numbers. Check out the tour page, or our MySpace page for all the details. Thanks for checking in, we'll see you soon. "Radio??... who needs the radio?"
3/19/2006. (extended play) baby, (extended play). The new EP is now available online at http://cdbaby.com/cd/gmayogroove . The new music will be on iTunes soon as well. 1/26/2006. Greetings from Awesometown. Greg Mayo and the Groove have moved... to a new state of mind. The latest news from here in Awesometown is that our new EP, entitled (extended play) will hit the proverbial shelves (read: iTunes shelves) in the coming weeks. "Having fun, guy number 1?" "The most fun in the world."
1/1/2006. Moshi moshi. Happy new year from everyone here at the gregmayo.net factory. All 73 of us. News to speak of, tomorrow morning at the early hour 8 am, I will be leaving for the airport which will lead me to the plane, which is leaving for Tokyo, Japan. It just so happens that I will be going on my first solo tour at the same time I will be going on my first international tour. Also, (extended play) has been mastered and is now in the factory being duplicated. Shows coming up back in the states in late January and February, keep checking back for those. There is also news not to speak of... but we won't talk about that. Keep in touch, see you all soon. "I think I'm turning japanese, I think I'm turning japanese, I really think so."
11/16/2005. The Beatles almost got it right when they said, "all you need is love." What they left out is, "all you need is more people at Greg Mayo and the Groove shows." And I think Ringo said something about checking out iTunes. Not unlike the Jolly Green Giants or Crucial Taunt before them, we are currently in the studio working on a new EP (stands for Extended Play, for those who don't know). It will be the first recording that everyone in the band is playing on. We also have a couple huge shows coming up, including the Lions Den on Dec 2nd (contact info@gregmayo.net for tix) and Purchase College on Dec 11. And, if you havent checked them out already, we have pics up from our haloween show at the Bitter End, and will have pics up soon from my studio. "The S**tty Beatles, are they any good?" "They suck." "Oh, so it's not just a clever name."
10/8/2005. They say a picture is worth a thousand words. I say a picture is worth 3... gregmayo dot net. Yes, thats right, pics from our most recent shows have been posted on, where else, but the pics page. Thanks to everyone who came out to the Trinity show, we had a great time, and raised a lot of money and awareness for Amnesty International. Those of you who were there got to hear the debut performance of a brand new song, not even recorded yet. Hope you all liked it. Come out to the Bitter End on the 29th and hear that and many more new songs. I promise you it will be a show you cannot miss. "What kind of music do you usually have here?" "Oh, we got both kinds. We got country and western."
9/24/2005. Hey all! First and foremost: welcome to the new GregMayo.net. Thanks for stopping by! You can leave thoughts, concerns and compliments to the creator himself, Bob Blake, at webmaster@gregmayo.net. Also, I'd like to thank everyone who came out to our first show at the Knitting Factory, and to our gig at Vintage, in White Plains. We're back, and if I do say so myself, we're better than ever. We have some very important shows coming up, including opening for the Jennifer Hartswick Band at Tammany Hall in Worcester, Mass. As some of you may know, Jen has been playing trumpet for Trey Anistasio for a number of years now, on his albums as well as live. We'll also be back at The Bitter End in NYC at the end of October. Check out the tour page for all the new dates, because there will be many more coming shortly. Also, to hear all the new mixes and tunes we've been working on, go to either: www.myspace.com/gregmayo or www.purevolume.com/gregmayo . Thats all the news for now - keep checking back, and "Stay classy, Planet Earth."
8/24/2005. Hey, I know, it's been a long time. Were sorry for not calling...we just got busy...we lost your number...our cell phone broke, I swear...but seriously, this summer "off" has been anything but a break. Greg has spent his time in the studio refining new songs to be recorded for the next album, which he has already begun to record. This time around, he's looking to feature members from his band, as well as other musicians he's worked with on various projects. Looking at the present, Greg will be playing the Knitting Factory in NYC on Thursday, Sept 1st at 11pm to kick off what promises to be his most sucessful season yet. Check out the tour page for all the details, as other shows will be up shortly. Also, we are in the process of constructing MySpace and PureVolume pages, complete with streamable recordings of Greg's new material. These pages will be up shortly as well. As usual, keep checking back for all the news and shows. Thanks very much, well see you all soon. It's good to be back!
4/18/2005. Hey, thanks for checking up! Much news to discuss, first we would like to thank the new fans we had the pleasure of playing for and meeting in Long Island and Worcester, we hope to see you all again soon. The recent shows there and in Hartford were each great sucesses. This Saturday, we're playing back at Greg's home away from home, Purchase College. As usual, you can check out all the tour information here on the tour page. Don't forget to check out More Time Than Money on iTunes. Hope to see you soon.
3/31/2005. iTunes baby, iTunes. Thats right, ladies and gentlemen, we are on iTunes. Check us out.. tell your friends! The only thing better than downloading us, would be to see us live. In the next month alone we will be hitting spots in New York, Maryland, Connecticut, and Massachusetts. Also, check the media page for new pics, and coming soon, new and improved bios, so you can get to know your favorite Groove member. Thanks again, and in closing, I would just like to say... iTunes! Shows!... April Rules!
3/16/2005. Although it may be the year of the Rooster in the Chinese calendar, it is definitely the year of the Benefit Show for Greg Mayo and the Groove. The show we played for Rock2Rebuild was a great success. Although it was our 3rd show of that weekend, there was nothing lacking in the performance. The entire day was a wonderful experience and we were glad we could be a part of it. In the coming weeks we are playing benefit shows for Juvenile Diabetes on Long Island and Amnesty International in Hartford. We are also going to be playing longer 2 set shows in Oneonta and in Worcester, which will be posted shortly. As always, check the tour page for all the specifics on upcoming shows. See you soon.
2/23/2005. Happy belated Presidents Day! You know what they say, here today, gone tomorrow. Anyway, hope the day finds you well, and with More Time Than Money in your head. Thanks again to everyone who came out to the release party, it was a huge success, we really appreciate all the support. As usual, we have a few shows in the coming days and weeks, on friday, were playing Mad River, at 10 30. Also, as usual, all the info regarding all the shows is on the tour page. Check it out. Hope to see you at the shows.
2/5/2005. Hey, Whatsup everyone? Thanks for checking back with us. We have a lot of news to let you in on. First we have quite a few shows coming up in this and the coming weeks, including the More Time Than Money release party/show at The Bitter End on Thursday the 10th. Check out the Tour page for all the other dates. Also, we are in the begining stages of planning our first full length tour of the states. The possible tour will begin in late May or early June, and hopefully will never end(although it will probably end in August). So do us a favor and tell all of your friends across the country to look out for us on our tour. Thanks again, see you all soon.
1/14/2005. It's been 5 months, 6 days, 2 hours and 9 minutes (give or take), since we began recording More Time Than Money. Finally, the recording process is finished, the album is mastered, the artwork is completed, and manufacturing has begun with the CD set to appear on shelves on January 21st. For the technically savvy and internet capable, stop by Amazon.com, or even iTunes music store shortly thereafter and you can download it straight to your computer. Also, check out the tour page for upcoming shows, including the album release party/show at our beloved Bitter End, on Febuary 10th. Be sure to pick up your very own copy of More Time Than Money at one of our upcoming shows.
10/21/2004. Hey everyone, Just letting you all know that the album is nearing completion. Visiting the studio recently, I found Greg and Tony passed out in their chairs, exhausted from working. Also, we are experiencing difficulites on the website, and are unable to add tour dates to the tour page, so I'm going to paste them here so you all can see...:
Saturday Oct. 23, The Bitter End, 147 Bleeker St. NYC at 10:45 ($5 cover)
Thursday Nov. 4, Kennys Castaways, 157 Bleeker St. NYC at 10pm
Friday Nov. 19, Student Center at SUNY Purchase College
Thanks everyone, see you around.
9/24/04. Yes, I know it’s been a little while since we last wrote, but it’s for good reason, we promise…Greg and Tony have been working furiously in the studio recording the new album, which is coming along very well. Look for new songs to be debuted at shows in the near future. We also want to say “What’s up?” and “Thank you” to all of our new fans and friends out on Long Island and at Greg’s home away from home, Purchase College. The Groove is slowly but surely shifting gears, to begin playing more colleges now that the school year is back in full swing. If you want us to come and play at your school, please feel free to contact us at booking@gregmayo.net. Thanks again, we’ll see you soon.
8/8/04. Well, it’s that time once again. Greg has officially begun the recording of his second album, tentatively titled “More Time than Money”. This one will be recorded fully in Greg’s home studio, GnM studios in Purchase, NY. Engineering with Greg is the grooves own Tony Santopolo. “This record hopefully will have a little more of a soulful edge to it, and we’ll be able to take a lot more time, and try out different concepts for the tunes, now that were working without time constraints.” said Tony. Expect to hear songs that the Groove has already begun playing live, such as “I Heard” and “Don’t Think Twice”. The Groove will be taking on fewer shows in the coming weeks so that Greg can dedicate much of his time to the recording process. “More Time than Money” is expected to have 12 or 13 tracks, and should be out in late October.
6/11/04. First and foremost, we just want to say thank you to everyone who came out to CoDa last night – it was definitely the biggest crowd Greg and the Groove has drawn to the club this year. The guys would also like to extend a warm welcome to John Liotta, the newest member of the Groove. He had is first show with the band last night, and made his presence known. At saxophone, John adds a new harmony and presence to the Groove’s sound. In the future, both he and Matt Abatelli will be playing with the group full time. Also, Greg has been working constantly writing and recording demos for the new album, which he should begin recording later this summer. As usual, keep checking back to see where to catch Greg Mayo and the Groove next.
5/17/04. Big ups to Busta!!! Fordham Spring Weekend was a blast. Opening for Busta Rhymes was quite an interesting blend of styles, but it worked out great. Since then, Greg and The Groove have been laying low and finishing up school. The band is taking it easy all month and re-grouping for the summer, while Greg has been hitting up the studio and writing a bunch of great tunes for the upcoming second album. Everyone should come out for the June 3rd show at CoDa, it will definitely rock. We hope everyone's summer is getting off to a great start and we look forward to seeing y'all soon.
4/4/04. As we all spring our clocks ahead, Greg Mayo and The Groove are springing into action. First and foremost, we hope y'all like the new site design. Big thanks to Bob Blake for all of his hustle and hard work on the site. Big ups to B Reddy for helping out on those new pics. The new live shots are pretty great. We'll be putting them up for every show from here on out. Big ups to Jane Tucker for rockin' out in Baltimore and setting up that great page of pics form the show down there. We appreciate it. After some incredibly succesful shows in Baltimore and Gettysburg, the guys are moving up and down the eastern seaboard in the next few weeks. Upcoming shows include many colleges, an opening slot for Busta Rhymes, and a pending Bob Mayo Memorial Concert in New York City. Plans for the summer are being considered as we speak. Check the tour page for everything. When we confirm, the date goes right up. Hope the better weather is treating y'all as well as it is us - hope to see all of you at the next show!
2/28/04. Friends, it has been a long time since we posted any news. We had a great month of February and really have not had the time to post. The Groove is taking a two week hiatus, and we now have some time. I wish that this posting was one of good news, but it is not. It is with much sadness that I have to infrom you all (I apologize to those who already know), that Greg's father, Bob Mayo, passed away on Monday in Basel, Switzerland, while on tour with Peter Frampton. Despite the monumental loss, Greg decided to play the show we had scheduled less than 24 hours later. He knew his father would have wanted him to do it. The performance on Tuesday night was nothing short of breathtaking. It is a moment that I will not soon forget. This 20 year old man reached down and found a spirit within him. I normally do not write in such a personal way but I feel this situation necessitates it. We really want to thank you all for your support and love. Greg appreciates it and so does his family. We will keep everyone posted on where the band will be in a couple of weeks. For now, there a far more important things to attend to. God bless.
1/11/04. Happy New Year everyone - hope you all had a wonderful holiday season. After taking a short holiday break, The Groove is back again for yet another barrage of shows around the area. You can catch Greg and the guys at Club Rare for the first time ever on Thursday, January 15. Check out the tour page for directions and other info. Also this month, the boys will hit up Mad River Bar and Grille on the 27th, and Mayo's home away from home, Purchase College, on the 30th. As always, keep checking back to the tour page for where and when to see the Groove next. Thanks for droppin' by...peace.
12/21/03. Ladies and gentlemen, important news. The show at Chetty Reds on Tuesday, December 23rd has been changed from its normal time of 9pm, to 7pm due to a private party at the club later in the night. Once again, the show at Chetty Reds is at 7 pm, not 9. Hope you see you all there - Happy holidays!
12/5/03. Damn...10,000 hits. On behalf of Greg and the Groove, the crew, and everyone involved, I'd like to thank all of you for your support. As many of you already know, new to GregMayo.net are live video clips! The first one is already up on the tour page: a live clip from the Groove show at Chetty Red's on Nov. 11. And of course, in classic GregMayo.net fashion, a new one will be up every week until we run out. Also, don't forget to check out Greg and the guys for the holdiays at Chetty Reds on Dec 23rd. As usual, check out the Tour page for all the shows and information. Keep rockin' - peace.
11/10/03. You guys rock, and by "you guys" I mean all of you who came out Saturday night to Chetty Red's. And by "rock" I mean really rock. Loyal fans called it the best Groove show yet. Playing between two other bands, the Groove played a tight and explosive set. You can catch Greg and the guys back at Chetty Red's on Tuesday November 25th and then at Town Crier on the 26th. Keep checking back to the site for any news and tour dates. Coming soon: clips from the new album, due out mid-2004. Don't forget to sign up for the mailing list by sending an e-mail to mailinglist@gregmayo.net with the word SUBSCRIBE in the subject line. Thanks again, see you all soon.
11/9/03. The first edition of the Greg Mayo and the Groove newsletter is out! This letter will give you updates on Greg Mayo and the Groove Tour dates and other news. If you haven't already, send an e-mail to mailinglist@gregmayo.net with the word SUBSCRIBE in the subject line to get your copy.
10/26/03. Extra, Extra...read all about it - Greg Mayo and the Groove buys out Morally Casual for an undisclosed sum!
Yes, it is true... Morally Casual and Greg Mayo and the Groove have joined forces and agreed to work under the name Greg Mayo and the Groove from now on. Negotiations went well into the morning hours, and the decision was made public early morning on Saturday, October 25th. Perhaps the final deciding factor was that the Groove had just played a show of shows at the Town Crier with a great and lively turnout, playing both Groove and Morally Casual favorites. Again, thank you all for coming out. Also, a new date has been posted on the tour page. Saturday, November 8th at Chetty Reds. Playing with a couple other bands, the Groove should be going on around 9 or so. As usual, you can check the tour page for all the Groove dates. Hope to see you all soon. Greg Mayo and the Groove news...You hear it first.
10/20/03. Hey everyone - thanks again to those who came out on Tuesday night to Chetty Red's. The show solidified our residency there. At the show, the Groove debuted two new Greg Mayo tunes that got a very welcoming response. See the tour page as usual for the next time you can check us out. The next show on the horizon is at The Town Crier on 53rd St. between 1st and 2nd Ave. It just so happens that there will be a drink up from 10 to 1, the very same time that we will be playing. Hope to see you all there. Again, keep checking the site for news, tour and album info. Peace all.
9/29/03. The times just keep getting better and better. The last two shows, at Bathgate and Town Crier, were both incredible shows, great turnouts, and GT's (good times) all around. Again, a big thanks to everyone who came out to the shows - there will be many more where that came from. Town Crier has already asked the band to come back, as well as Chetty Red's, which we are playing on the 14th of October again. Also, Greg has already started working on material for the next release and it is already being played live at shows. No release date has been established yet, but he plans on starting the recording process soon. This album is expected to be recorded completely at Greg's studio, known as GnM studios. That's the news for now; check the tour page for where you can see Greg and the Groove next. Peace.
9/17/03. Big thanks to everyone who came out to the show yesterday at Chetty Red's, we had a great time. Special thanks to tenor sax player Matt Abatelli for coming out and playing and joining The Groove. Check the tour page for when and where you can catch us next - new tour dates have been posted. Thanks again everyone, see you soon.
8/28/03. The day has finally arrived!!! You've heard the clips. You've seen the pics. The long anticipated release of Greg Mayo's first solo album is here!!! "All Integrity Set Aside" is now available for sale. It's been a long, strange trip but it was well worth it. You may now enjoy the musical stylings of Mr. Mayo inside the confines of your car, your home, your closet, or wherever you so desire. Pick up a CD as soon as possible. If you do not own a CD player, stop living in the 80's and buy one. Even if it is for no other reason than to listen to this album. Thanks to everyone for all the help to get us here. The only place to go now is up!!!
7/11/03. The Cellar Bar was great Friday night. Thanks to all the PDC kids for coming out. I hope you had as much fun as we did. The Bartenders said they had not had a crowd like that in a long time. I definitely think the "Sweet Child of Mine" sing-a-long was the best. Morally Casual has a gig coming up this weekend in Mamaroneck at a 50th birthday party on Saturday. Greg always wanted to be a wedding singer, so here's his chance. There's also a gig coming up in the city on Tuesday the 22nd of July. Check the "TOUR" page of this website for more info...keep hope alive.
6/29/03. Hey, everyone - it's been a long time, but the final stages of mastering for the album have almost been completed. Greg has been working the open mic circuit in Manahttan recently to give the music a test drive and the response has been great! Some new gigs have been booked and we hope you all can make them. I'll keep you posted on the release date of the album - it's going to be very very soon. Peace all.
5/28/03. It's been kind of a slow few weeks lately, with the focus being kind of shifted to getting the album mastered and released. It's in the final stages right now though, so expect "All Integrity Set Aside" to be available within the next couple weeks. If you have any questions or comments about the album, send an e-mail to AISA@gregmayo.net.
In website news, I will be away from my computer from this Monday until mid-June, so I'll let you guys have a treat and give you two "clips of the week" this weekend. Check back Saturday or Sunday for the new songs, and if any news arises while I'm gone, Greg will post it on the message board. That's all for now - see everyone sometime soon.
4/27/03. Thanks to all the people who made it out to the show at Fordham on Saturday. The day began as any day does when Morally Casual plays: it was raining. The big Mos Def show was on the slate and the rain definitely did not dampen our spirits. MC opened with some Jimi Hendrix and ended with an awesome rendition of Greg Mayo's "Shelf"; it was a blast up there. Due to the inclement weather, the second show of the day was cancelled at Lorillard. MC's attempt to pull off the difficult double gig in a day, for the second time in as many weeks, was foiled by mother nature. No worries though, we had a blast hanging out with the lorillard crew. Again, thanks to everyone who came out and we look forward to seeing y'all at the next show.
4/14/03. Huge thanks to everyone who came out for the Catholic School Girls party and the Upper Deck show on Saturday night. The double gig was a blast. We did not know how the "Hit me baby one more time" or "In da club" covers were going to go over but everyone seemed to love them. Kind of strange given the fact that there was just as big a reaction to "Hey Joe". The Lorillard show was such a success that Morally Casual was booked for two new gigs on the spot. Fordham's Spring Weekend will be packed with gigs on Friday 4/25 and Saturday 4/26. This is all in addition to the huge Mos Def Show at Fordham that Morally Casual is the opening act for on Saturday, April 26th. The show on the 25th will be yet another theme party to the tune of "Pimps 'n' Ho's". It seems that the band name is attracting a certain type of venue and crowd. Keep checkin the news, and tour pages for new tour dates. And still, every tuesday new audio clip on the album page. See you all soon.
4/11/03. Tomorrow is a very big day for Greg and Morally Casual. First, the band will be playing a Catholic School Girls Party at the Lorillard Apartments down by Fordham University. Anyone planning to attend keep in mind that the girl with the best Catholic School Girl outfit will win $100 cash! Needless to say, we are very excited about this show. In addition to that, after the party, Greg and the guys will head over to the Upper Deck Bar also by Fordham in the Bronx, to play the rest of the night. Their set there will start at 12 midnight, and go until they can't stand and play under their own power anymore. Its gonna be a hell of a day, hope to see you all there. Peace.
4/8/03. Its Tuesday...and you know what that means: the new Clip of the Week. “Shelf” has been put up as this week's clip. Check it out on the album page, and let us know what you think. Remember, a new clip will be added every Tuesday until the release of All Integrity Set Aside, expected mid-May. Thanks everyone, peace.
4/7/03. Big thanks to everyone who came out to Mug-z’s on Friday night, we had a great time. The debut live performance of Get It Goin’ went very well, thanks for listening. Remember: you can check out a minute-long clip of it on the album page. And Saturday marked the last day of tracking on All Integrity Set Aside when a string section of violin, viola and cello played on Time of Your Life. This month will start and finish the process of mixing and editing on the project so it can be released mid-May. Also, don’t forget, check the album page on Tuesday for the new Clip of the Week: a new clip every Tuesday until the release of All Integrity Set Aside. Thank you all…See you soon.
4/1/03. New feature added to the site today - Clip of the Week. From now until the release of All Integrity Set Aside, there will be a different one-minute long clip of a track from the album posted each week in the Album section. This week's clip is "Get it Goin'."
More new additions to the site include tour dates and information about the bands playing them, so check out the Tour section. And if that wasn't enough, lots more pictures have been posted in the past day or so.
Keep checking back; there's new stuff posted almost every day!
3/29/03. The session today was the best yet. 4 cents turned into 8 bucks when Becky Haviland and the infamous Bob Mayo provided their services in the Hartt studios. Becky laid down some hot lead and backing vocal tracks on a few songs she co-wrote with Greg. And Bob recorded some incredible guitar and keyboard parts in a way that only he knows how.
Earlier this week Greg and Brad Danho played trombone and saxophone on a couple of the tracks. Brad, a senior at the Hartt School, burned up the tracks with a couple of well placed and well played tenor sax solos.
This week will bring the last days of recording on the album, and the attention will shift from tracking to editing and mixing. Final vocal tracks and percussion will be added, and next Saturday a string section will come in and record parts for “Time of Your Life” (not the Green Day song, its just a coincidence), the last song on the album.
Check out the pics page for shots from in the studio, and check back here for a complete list of tracks and lyrics for the album. See you all soon.
3/25/03. Big news to be talked about today. First, the big weekend is almost here. This weekend, April 29 and 30, Becky Haviland will lend her vocals, and the famous Bob Mayo will lend his keyboard and guitar skills to the album. Greg looks forward to having them put their 4 cents in on his album. Check the pics page, and album page for pictures and details of the weekend. Second, April will be a huge month for Greg, Morally Casual, Section 39, and All Integrity Set Aside. Matt Nagle, manager/singer/guitarist/hustler extraordinaire has been, and is still in the process of negotiating the details of getting Morally Casual to open for Mos Def at Fordham University’s Spring Fling on April 26th, and Jurassic 5, at Loyola University on the 27th. The Mos Def gig is 100% now. Even aside from that, April is a big month for gigs, check the tour page for all the dates, bands and times. Third, and finally, the last day of tracking is coming up. The weekend April 5th will mark the end of tracking (hopefully) and the start of editing and mixing of the album. Still on schedule, look for All Integrity Set Aside at a Morally Casual, Section 39, or Greg Mayo show near you, or even on this website starting in mid May.
2/14/03. “Section 39”, Greg and Matt’s acoustic project, are playing at Rams Lounge, down by Fordham University, in the Bronx. Hope to see you all there.
Also, the album recording is still going very well, check the album page for details. Tracking for the album is coming along on schedule. Look for it selling at shows and from the website.
2/3/03. Thanks to everyone who came out to the show on Friday night at The Upper Deck, we had a great time. Check out the pics page for shots of the show. We hope to see you all again soon. Check the tour page for all of the “Morally Casual” gigs, as well as the rest of Greg’s shows.
1/31/03. The debut show for the band “Morally Causal” is scheduled at The Upper Deck Bar, in The Bronx, New York. The band is made up of Greg on lead guitar and vocals, Matt Nagle on vocals and rhythm guitar, Shinsuke Ikeda on bass, and Gabe McMahon on drums. “Morally Casual” is a mainly cover band with many styles of music. The styles range from classic rock, blues, r&b, hip-hop and pop. This band plays just about anything out there.
1/28/03. The first recording session is underway for Greg Mayo’s first solo album, All Integrity Set Aside. Recording at the Hartt School of Music, this album should be completed and released by mid May of this year. There will be guest performances expected by vocalist Rebecca Haviland, a long time friend, bandmate, and songwriting partner, Adam Cote, a prodigy bass player from the Hartt School of Music, and the one and only Bob Mayo, Greg’s father who will be playing guitar and keyboards on a few of the tunes.
